Job summary

Bowmay Consulting is assisting a Lancashire-based manufacturing client to recruit a Procurement Manager. This senior role focuses on strategic sourcing without people management, with a strong emphasis on global supplier relationships and cost savings.

You will oversee all purchasing of specialist raw materials, PPE, and site services, drive negotiations, monitor market trends, and ensure compliance and documentation across sites, including international teams.

Qualifications

• Strategic procurement across global supply chains.
• Strong negotiation skills with global suppliers.
• Track record of delivering year-on-year cost savings.
• Comfort working with data, cost analysis and market trends.
• Experience with Source-to-Pay processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing of specialist raw materials for production.
• Oversee PPE, consumables, site service contracts, and materials handling equipment.
• Negotiate with global suppliers to secure best terms and price.
• Monitor market pricing pressures and supply risks.
• Maintain documentation for audits and ensure standards.
• Collaborate with other sites to share purchasing data and supplier performance insights.

About the Job

• You will manage all purchasing of specialist raw materials for production always ensuring technical compliance
• You will oversee PPE, consumables, site service contracts and material‑handling equipment
• Ongoing negotiation with global suppliers to secure the best terms and the best price
• Monitor the market to keep abreast of pricing pressures or supply risks
• Maintain documentation for audits, ensure adherence to relevant standards
• support waste‑reduction initiatives and selection of more sustainable consumables
• Maintain pricing files, supplier records, contracts and performance data
• Working collaboratively with other sites to share purchasing data and supplier performance insights with international teams

• You'll have strategic procurement expertise within global supply chains and complex manufacturing environments
