This is an exciting opportunity to join SYMCA's Procurement Team and play a key role in delivering a professional, efficient and value-driven procurement service across the organisation.

As Procurement Manager, you will lead on ensure that procurement activity supports organisational priorities, delivers value for money and complies with relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will provide expert advice and guidance, helping teams procure goods, services and works effectively while supporting continuous improvement across the procurement function.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement for Major Capital Programmes and Projects, the role will support the strategic and operational delivery of Capital schemes across SYMCA.

About you

You are an experienced procurement professional with a strong understanding of procurement and contract management within a complex organisation, ideally within the public sector.

You will bring:

  • Experience of managing procurement activity and leading tendering processes.
  • Working within the Capital portfolio, experience in delivering Capital schemes and works contracts would be preferred, but not essential as training will be given.
  • Strong knowledge of public procurement legislation, regulations and best practice.
  • Experience of developing procurement documentation, processes and procedures.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build productive working relationships across teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance value for money with organisational objectives.
  • Experience of analysing information and providing clear, practical advice to support decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, presentations and procurement documentation for a range of audiences.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.

You will be highly organised, professional and collaborative, with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering an effective procurement service that supports SYMCA's strategic goals.
