Job summary

Benjamin-Grace is recruiting an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee procurement across a major UK operation, with civils, infrastructure, construction or engineering background. You will own procurement strategy, supplier relationships, contracts and cost performance across a complex site.

Reporting to senior management, you will lead supplier negotiations, manage key vendors and subcontractors, develop cost-saving programmes and ensure compliance with Health & Safety and regulatory

Qualifications

  • Procurement experience in civils, construction, infrastructure, engineering or similar.
  • Experience managing suppliers, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Experience developing procurement strategies and delivering cost savings.
  • Stakeholder management across technical, project and operational teams.
  • Leadership experience in procurement teams.
  • Understanding of procurement risk, compliance and Health & Safety.
  • Degree-level qualification is desirable but not essential with relevant experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Managing procurement performance through KPIs.
  • Ensuring procurement activity meets regulatory and best-practice requirements.
  • Approving purchase orders and coordinating delivery of goods and services.
  • Reporting procurement performance to senior management.
  • Providing leadership and support to the procurement function.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Procurement Manager to take responsibility for procurement across a major UK operation.

This is a key role for a commercially minded procurement professional with a strong civils, infrastructure, construction or engineering background, who can take ownership of procurement strategy, supplier relationships, contracts and cost performance across a complex operational environment.

The Role
  • Developing and implementing an effective procurement strategy.
  • Managing key suppliers, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers.
  • Negotiating competitive commercial terms and contracts.
  • Reviewing and managing existing supplier agreements.
  • Working closely with Technical, Project, Terminal and operational teams.

  • Managing procurement performance through appropriate KPIs.
  • Ensuring procurement activity meets relevant regulatory and best-practice requirements.

About You
  • Proven experience in procurement within civils, construction, infrastructure, engineering or a similar environment.
  • Strong experience managing suppliers, subcontractors and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent commercial negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Experience developing procurement strategies and delivering measurable cost savings.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across technical, project and operational teams.
  • Previous experience managing or leading people.
  • Good understanding of procurement risk, compliance and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, decisive and commercially focused approach.
  • Good IT skills.
  • A degree-level qualification is desirable, but not essential where the candidate can demonstrate strong relevant procurement and commercial experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
