Job summary

STRABAG is seeking an experienced professional for the embedded Procurement team on the HARP Project. You will provide procurement support across site locations, advise on purchasing policy and strategy, and manage supplier relationships and contract administration to ensure delivery and quality across the programme.

You will also oversee staff development, monitor QA adherence, and coordinate with other departments to forecast demand and drive procurement efficiency while building future

Qualifications

  • Degree in business, procurement or related discipline.
  • CIPS qualification.
  • Experience running supply chain events.
  • Experience with tendering processes (CompeteFor etc).
  • Literate and numerate; proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Support Head of Procurement with purchasing policy, strategy and planning.
  • Manage staff training, upskilling and supervision.
  • Manage suppliers and monitor trade agreements.
  • QA compliance and quality system adherence.
  • Forecast and plan to meet quality demand with other departments.
  • Prioritise and manage project purchasing.
  • Negotiate and administer purchasing contracts and monitor progress.
  • Ensure contractual adherence and future supplier accreditation.
  • Prepare reports and statistics as needed.
  • Negotiate payment terms and manage accounts.
  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, internal departments and customers.
  • Develop market knowledge and identify potential suppliers.
  • Evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
  • Keep contract files and reference for future use.
  • Visit sites and suppliers to align with business objectives.
  • Liaise with end users and other parties.
  • Monitor supply chain performance and financial status.

Job description

Tasks

The operational Procurement team will be embedded across the HARP Project, operating from agreed site locations to provide effective procurement support, supplier engagement, and delivery assurance throughout the programme.

  • Aiding Head of Procurement and advising on purchasing policy, strategy and planning.
  • Managing staff, including supporting with their training, upskilling, developing and supervising their work.
  • Managing suppliers, relationships, monitoring trade agreements.
  • Monitoring and managing quality and QA systems adherence.
  • Liaison with other departments as necessary to forecast, plan to meet, and to supply demand to relevant quality.
  • Project purchasing prioritisation and management.
  • Negotiating and administration of purchasing contracts and monitoring their progress.
  • Ensuring contractual adherence.
  • Building in future supplier accreditation requirements in line with Business Requirements.
  • Administration and producing reports and statistics as necessary.
  • Payment terms negotiation and account management.
  • Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers.
  • Developing market knowledge and contacts for new products and services; identifying potential suppliers.
  • Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
  • Keeping contract files and using them as reference for the future.
  • Visiting sites and suppliers ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives.
  • Liaising with end users and other relevant parties.
  • Monitor the supply chain performance, workload and financial status to protect the corporate position.
Qualifications
  • Skills card - CSCS Card.
  • Degree qualified in a business, procurement or related discipline.
  • CIPS Qualified.
  • Experience of running supply chain events.
  • Experience with tendering process (CompeteFor etc).
  • Literate and numerate with proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other office applications.
