Senior Business Manager at Adele Carr Recruitment

Procurement Category Manager (Indirect Procurement for CAPEX & Operations) required for my client, a leading FMCG business with market leading brands.

As Category Manager, you will be responsible for managing a high-complexity spend area; creating robust spend category strategies and actively partnering with key stakeholders. This is a hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities of the Category Manager:

1. Significant experience in Utilities procurement or other heavily data-driven procurement categories.
2. Experience in FMCG or similar operational procurement. Understanding requirements to support the business and what drives costs, challenging specifications, and working with stakeholders to drive value.
3. Create and implement category strategies aligned with Business Units and Group Service functions.
4. Ensure procurement policies, processes, and spend compliance rules are in place.
5. Support new product launches within Business Units (involvement in strategic projects).
6. Create and present recommendations to business units.
7. Present key insights and updates to stakeholders, including data analysis and market insights, for effective planning and decision-making.
8. Implement a supplier relationship strategy to achieve KPIs and develop sustainable added value.
9. Drive projects and sourcing events, managing timelines and deliverables.

Key Skills and Experience:

1. Minimum 5 years’ experience in Procurement.
2. Specialist knowledge in energy, utilities, chemicals, waste management, and recycling categories is desirable.
3. Ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.
4. Strong communication skills at all levels.
5. Excellent data interpretation and analysis skills.
6. Leadership in project teams.
7. Advanced Project Management skills are a plus.
