Qualifications

• Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management or purchasing, ideally IT/Tech.
• Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive mindset with focus on value for money, service improvement and social value.
• Ability to analyse market trends, supplier performance and spend data to inform procurement decisions.
• Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations or experience in public sector procurement.

Responsibilities

• Lead compliant tendering and procurement processes, including tender documents, competitive bidding and supplier selection support.
• Analyse spend, supplier performance and procurement practices to identify efficiencies and improve contract outcomes.
• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts to meet quality, service and delivery standards.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and partners, embedding social value and responsible procurement.

Category Manager (IT/Tech focus)

£63,800 to £75,000, depending on experience

As a Category Manager at Hyde, you will lead procurement activity across the IT/Tech category, ensuring purchasing decisions deliver value for money, quality and compliance with public sector procurement regulations. You will manage the full procurement lifecycle, from market engagement and tendering through to supplier selection, contract negotiation and ongoing performance management.

Key Duties

• Develop and manage procurement plans for IT/Tech products and services, using market insight to identify opportunities for savings and added value.
• Lead compliant tendering and procurement processes, including preparing tender documents, managing competitive bidding and supporting supplier selection.
• Analyse spend, supplier performance and procurement practices to identify efficiencies and improve contract outcomes.
• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring agreed quality, service and delivery standards are achieved.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and partners, embedding social value, sustainability and responsible procurement practices.
