Job summary

The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) seeks a Category Manager to lead procurement for Sizewell C wide packages. You will design procurement strategies, run end-to-end sourcing, analyse markets and suppliers, and ensure ethical, compliant practice within nuclear regulations.

You will lead a team of Buyers, drive supplier performance, seek best value, and build long-term partnerships that deliver value for money and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within the construction industry and knowledge of interfaces.
• Implemented project procurement plans using a wide variety of contract types.
• Good communication skills (verbal & written).
• Can manage and supervise staff to work.
• Lead category specific activities.
• A measured approach to decision making and best value procurement.
• Has delivered demonstrable added value through procurement activity.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver procurement strategies for project-wide/high-value packages.
• Delivery and execution of end-to-end sourcing strategies with market analysis and supplier selection.
• Carry out procurement for complex packages in line with SZC strategy.
• Provide an ethical and compliant approach to procurement meeting governance and nuclear regulations.
• Work with commercial teams on contract negotiations and supplier checks.
• Contribute to and provide regular procurement and supplier performance reports.
• Monitor the supply market to identify potential new suppliers and products.
• Understand supplier market developments, risks and opportunities.
• Focus on value for money, service quality and process efficiency.
• Lead long-term supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead a team of Buyers / Senior Buyers.
• Maintain Zero Harm focus.
