Job summary

The Portfolio Group Inc. is seeking a Buyer on behalf of a Buckinghamshire-based client. You will help procure goods and services, raise and manage purchase orders, and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.

You'll have the chance to develop your procurement career, with support toward ongoing qualifications such as CIPS, and work in a fast-moving environment that values accuracy and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a Purchasing, Procurement or Buying role.
• Ideally part-qualified in CIPS, or willing to work towards the qualification with company support
• Previous experience using an ERP/MRP system
• Some knowledge or understanding of import and export procedures
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and a well-organised approach
• Good communication skills, with the confidence to work with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple purchasing requirements and priorities within a fast-moving environment

Responsibilities

• Manage, raise and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely progression
• Source key items and negotiate with suppliers to support business requirements
• Monitor outstanding orders and liaise with suppliers to ensure goods are delivered in a timely and effective manner
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand current and upcoming purchasing requirements
• Build effective working relationships with suppliers and internal teams
• Support the business with indirect purchasing requirements
• Research and identify alternative sources of supply, particularly where urgent requirements arise
• Support the wider purchasing function with day-to-day procurement activity
• Maintain accurate purchasing information and records within the relevant systems
