Job summary

The University of Sydney is seeking a Senior Manager – Procurement Assurance to lead assurance, governance and continuous improvement across the University’s procurement function. You will use data and insights to identify risks, strengthen controls and improve procurement outcomes.

You will guide governance, audit and reporting, collaborating with senior leaders to enable informed decisions and drive capability-building that simplifies processes while preserving oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
• Significant experience leading procurement compliance, assurance, audit or risk management in a large organisation.
• Strong governance, policy interpretation and internal controls expertise.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders with authoritative advice.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills using data to identify risks and guide decisions.
• Leadership and change-management capabilities with a service-excellence mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the University’s procurement assurance framework with risk-based, data-driven approaches.
• Provide authoritative advice on governance, policy, controls and assurance to senior stakeholders.
• Oversee procurement audits, reviews and remediation to achieve compliant outcomes.
• Lead governance reporting and secretariat support for procurement bodies.
