Job summary

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Procurement & Distribution Senior Pharmacy Technician to support medicine procurement and distribution across wards. The role offers a clear band 4 to band 5 progression with mentoring and a development plan.

You will supervise operations, ensure compliance with SOPs and MHRA guidance, and liaise with suppliers to maintain stock, quality, and cost-efficient services. NHS benefits include pension and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• NVQ and BTec level 3 or Apprenticeship in Pharmaceutical science/studies.
• Registration with GPhC.
• Final accuracy Checking (ACPT).
• Hospital experience.
• Experience in use of CMM (JAC) pharmacy computer system.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Pharmacy Procurement and Distribution department to ensure efficient procurement and distribution of medicines.
• Ensure compliance with Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs), MHRA guidance, COSHH, Lifting and Handling Regulations and Trust policies.
• Oversee training of all operational staff within procurement and distribution.

Main duties of the job

To supervise the Pharmacy Procurement and Distribution department, supporting the efficient and effective procurement and distribution of medicines.
