Job description

As a Processing Field Technician, you will be the key point of contact for grower groups by collecting crop intelligence directly from farms. This position also supports the Processing Manager in meeting both grower and customer needs for key processing accounts. A significant portion of time will be spent on farms gathering and analysing samples.

Location: Norwich, Norfolk

Salary: £26,000 per annum

Closing date: 09/05/2025

Reporting to: Processing Manager

Main responsibilities

1. Gathering crop intelligence across grower groups, e.g., conducting yield digs
2. Developing and maintaining good relationships with external stakeholders
3. Supporting the Trading Manager to identify crops for sale, gathering and recording required samples/results
4. Communicating and keeping accurate records with the Processing Manager
5. Developing a good understanding of potato crop, quality, and sizing requirements of customers throughout the season

Our ideal candidate will have the following

• Experience working within a similar role and environment with good knowledge of potato crop
• A valid driving licence and willingness to travel
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively manage time and prioritise workload
• Good negotiating and communication skills
• Computer literate, e.g., Microsoft Office
