The Role
If you’re the kind of person who can explain a process clearly, spot when someone hasn’t quite got it, and make sure people are working safely without sounding like you’re reading from a rulebook, this could be a great fit.
We’re looking for an experienced Process Trainer to support a busy warehouse operation, training colleagues across site procedures, inductions and safe working practices.
This is very much a hands-on role. You’ll be out in the operation, working with colleagues and managers, keeping training records accurate and making sure refresher training happens when it should.
And yes, there will be spreadsheets and training matrices. They’re not glamorous, but they do matter.
Delivering new starter inductions and site training
Training colleagues on approved Safe Operating Procedures
Supporting the review and improvement of training materials and SOPs
Keeping training records and the site training matrix accurate and up to date
Monitoring refresher training and making sure nothing slips through the gaps
Working with Team Leaders and Managers to coordinate training around operational needs
Supporting and coaching Process Champions
Helping with audits relating to training and SOP compliance
Promoting safe working practices across the site
Operating warehouse equipment safely and in line with procedures
Supporting wider projects and operational activity where needed
Stepping back into normal operational duties when training demand allows
Previous experience as a trainer, ideally within a warehouse or logistics environment
Good understanding of warehouse operations and equipment
Confidence delivering training to people with different levels of experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good organisation and attention to detail
Experience maintaining training records or matrices would be a real advantage
Confidence working with managers and operational teams
A genuine focus on safety and doing things properly
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
Flexible attitude and happy to support across different operational areas
Someone approachable, practical and able to get people engaged
The original brief specifically calls for an experienced trainer with warehouse equipment knowledge, strong English communication skills and somebody comfortable working across operational functions in a fast-paced environment.
This probably won’t suit you if you’re looking for a purely classroom-based training role.
You will still be part of the operation.
Plans can change, training needs can move quickly and there will be times when you need to roll your sleeves up and help operationally.
You’ll also need to be comfortable keeping on top of records and chasing refresher training — because “I’m sure they did it sometime last month” unfortunately doesn’t count.
If you’re an experienced warehouse trainer who enjoys working with people, takes safety seriously and likes seeing someone grow in confidence because you trained them properly, we’d like to hear from you.
