Job summary

Nuffield Health is seeking a Decontamination Process Technician at the Wetherby HSSU Hub. This bank, ad hoc role offers weekend shifts with a 20% uplift and pays £12.84 per hour.

You will dismantle, sterilise and inspect instruments for theatre surgery and maintain records in line with policies. The ideal candidate will have basic education, strong numeracy and literacy, good team spirit, and proven computer literacy.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sterile services environment is advantageous.
• Able to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills are required.
• Able to work in a team and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, prepare and sterilise medical instruments for theatre surgery.
• Inspect and maintain instruments to a high standard.
• Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report faults.
• Regularly check medical equipment for damage and escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment and keep records up to date.

Salary £12.84 per hour

Working weekend we will pay 20% on top of your hourly wage

Saturday and Sunday 8am to 4pm week day training would be advantageous for the role, when fully trained more hour maybe available

As a Process Technician at our Wetherby HSSU Hub, you’ll bring a basic standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy skills. You’re organised with good communication skills – and ideally, you’re able to show evidence of sterile services training.

As a Decontamination Process Technician, you will:

• Dismantle and prepare and sterilise Medical Instruments ready for Theatre Surgery

• Inspect and maintain instruments to a high standard

• Help to ensure all equipment is in good working order

• Regularly check medical equipment for damage and report any faults

• Work with a strong friendly team

• Take on training as required

• Be computer literate

• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment

• Take action to resolve any problems

• Escalate issues where necessary

• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with our policies and procedures

• Handle manual handling duties up to 13kg.

• Have strong attention to detail and an overarching desire to deliver a high quality service.
