Job summary

Nuffield Health is seeking a Process Technician (Bank) for the Wetherby HSSU Hub. This part-time, ad-hoc role involves dismantling, preparing and sterilising medical instruments for theatre surgery, and ensuring instruments are maintained to a high standard.

You should have basic education with literacy and numeracy, be computer literate, and ideally have sterile services training. The role offers weekend uplift and a supportive team environment within the UK's largest healthcare charity.

Responsibilities

• Be computer literate and maintain records per policy.
• Maintain a clean, tidy work environment and handle up to 13kg.
• Escalate issues when necessary and deliver high-quality service.

Process Technician (Bank) – Wetherby HSSU Hub

Sector: Sterile Services | Part time | Ad hoc

Salary: £12.84 per hour. Working weekends we will pay 20% on top of your hourly wage Saturday and Sunday 8am to 4pm.

If you’re enthusiastic, motivated and you’ve previously worked in a sterile services environment, this is an exciting opportunity to join the UK’s largest Healthcare Charity. As a Process Technician at our Wetherby HSSU Hub, you’ll bring a basic standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy skills. You’re organised with good communication skills – and ideally, you’re able to show evidence of sterile services training.

As a Decontamination Process Technician, you will:

• Dismantle and prepare and sterilise Medical Instruments ready for Theatre Surgery
• Inspect and maintain instruments to a high standard
• Help to ensure all equipment is in good working order
• Regularly check medical equipment for damage and report any faults
• Work with a strong friendly team
• Take on training as required
• Be computer literate
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
• Take action to resolve any problems
• Escalate issues where necessary
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with our policies and procedures
• Handle manual handling duties up to 13kg.
• Have strong attention to detail and an overarching desire to deliver a high quality service.
