Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc is seeking a Process Safety Engineer in Bristol to drive process safety throughout operations. The role requires extensive experience in process safety engineering, PHAs, HAZID/HAZOP, LOPA and SIL, with a focus on regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.

You will support functional safety (IEC 61508, ISO 61511) and collaborate across engineering, operations and maintenance. The successful candidate will lead PHAs, manage risk assessments and ensure site challenges are

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Safety or related discipline OR significant relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Understand project scope, design criteria and drive a proactive PSM culture on site.
• Implement all aspects of PSM including compliance, PHAs/HAZOP/LOPA/SIL modeling.
• Review scenarios and risk engineering to support PSM design and improvements.
• Support functional safety aspects per IEC 61508/ISO 61511 and ISA-84; lead/participate in PHAs.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement process changes for continuous improvement.
• Use software platforms to manage changes and coordinate site support.
• Identify explosive atmospheres and complete hazardous area classifications.
