Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to join the team across Derby, Solihull or Rotherham on a full-time permanent basis. You will design, implement and maintain process safety requirements for operations, traveling to sites as needed to support multiple locations.

The role requires a degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or related field, strong knowledge of SEVESO III, and experience in PHAs, HAZOP, LOPA and SIL.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Safety or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in process safety, process engineering, and PHAs/HAZID/LOPA/SIL.
• Strong knowledge of SEVESO III Directive and its requirements.

Responsibilities

• Understand project scope, specifications and design criteria while driving a proactive PSM culture on site(s).
• Implement all aspects of process safety management, including regulatory compliance and PHA reviews (HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA/SIL).
• Complete reviews of risk scenarios to support PSM project design and improvements.
• Support functional safety aspects (IEC 61508, ISO EN 61511, ISAS84) and lead/participate in PHAs; willing to train as PHA facilitator.
• Perform/root cause analysis and implement process changes to drive continuous improvement.
• Utilise software platforms to manage changes and coordinate site assistance.
• Support identification of explosive atmospheres and hazardous area classifications.
