Job summary

Nalco Water, An Ecolab Company, is seeking a Production Operator for the Northwich plant to run operations in line with production plans and safety standards.

The role requires a disciplined operator capable of recording performance data, performing basic TPM activities and contributing to continuous improvement within a split-shift environment. Training and career progression are provided within a global sustainability-focused team.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Good numeracy and literacy; effective local language communication.
  • Written logs, worksheets and data recording clearly.
  • Verbal communication to express oneself at all levels.
  • Understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – PowerPoint, Excel and Word; manage processes via electronic systems.
  • Experience in a production environment with a disciplined, orderly approach.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with all safety, health and environmental standards on site and for own work area.
  • Fully run all operations in allocated area to deliver the production plan and achieve KPI targets.
  • Accurately record, track and monitor all relevant operational performance data with timely corrective actions.
  • Participate in TPM methodologies to identify losses and root causes.
  • Complete routine maintenance tasks and changeovers to maximise machine running times.
  • Support the team by identifying improvement opportunities and escalating issues.

What You Will Do
  • Understand and consistently comply to all safety, health and environmental standards (behavioural and machine) on site and for own work area
  • Fully run all operations in allocated area to deliver agreed production plan and achieve KPI targets whilst complying with all standard operating procedures
  • Accurately record, track and monitor all relevant operational performance data taking timely corrective actions or escalating if required
  • Participate in operational improvement initiatives and use core TPM methodologies to help in identification of losses and their elimination through root cause analysis
  • Complete routine basic maintenance tasks (TPM AM steps 1-3) and changeovers to maximise machine running times escalating non‑standard equipment conditions
  • Support team by identifying improvement opportunities and raising issues to local leadership team
Position Details

Plant location: Northwich Plant

Split Shift-Alternatively 6am to 2pm one week and 2pm to 10pm the next

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Good level in both numeracy and literacy as well as communication skills in local language are necessary to perform effectively
  • Written skills - Ability to complete logs, worksheets and record information (including graphically) clearly and legibly
  • Verbal skills - Ability to effectively express yourself at all levels
  • Have a well understanding for both written and verbal instructions
  • Competent in use of Microsoft office - PowerPoint, Excel and Word). Ability to manage all processes and procedures through use of electronic systems
  • Demonstrated capability of working in a production environment which requires a disciplined, ordered approach with careful attention to standards of work and personal behaviour.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understand and comply to all safety, health and environmental standards on site
  • Actively demonstrate and impress upon other team members the importance of behaving safely and responsibly looking after one another. Positively challenging any unsafe behaviours or activities
  • Identify, propose and implement safety improvements to existing work practices
  • Know the daily production plan, taking appropriate action to safeguard completion
  • Attend to all line(s) in allocated area, supply all materials needed and operate machines to maximise running time. Escalate potential supply problems
  • Maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards by ensuring 5S systems are effectively deployed and complete all cleaning
  • And other related duties, with guidance and training provided.
Experience Internal Candidate
  • Relevant experience in Assistant Process operator role within Ecolab
  • Good understanding of TPM
  • Use of basic associated tools and techniques
Experience External Candidate
  • Minimum 2 years relevant industrial experience in a production environment where you can demonstrate the above skills or relevant mechanical, electrical process or chemical qualification
  • Good understanding of TPM and experience in using basic associated tools and techniques
