Who We Are

Owned by the Italian Frandino Group and originally founded in the 1950s as a fruit distillery, Sedamyl has grown to become one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of wheat derivatives such as starches, sweeteners, proteins, and alcohol for major food and industrial sectors worldwide. In 2012, the group expanded its international presence by opening a plant in Selby, UK.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking several Process Operators to join our rapidly expanding processing plant, manufacturing alcohol, starch, gluten, and glucose syrups. Our production facility is highly automated, using SCADA systems, operating 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. You will be responsible for the effective running and monitoring of one of our designated manufacturing/processing plants to ensure the continuous flow of the production process.

Responsibilities Include

• Operating processing/manufacturing plant safely and efficiently according to procedure to ensure continuity of the process.
• Monitoring and controlling all plant and utility operations, making necessary adjustments to ensure smooth product flow.
• Retrieving samples and conducting tests to ensure products meet specifications.
• Taking remedial actions when products fail to meet specifications and reanalyzing as needed.
• Ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations and applicable programs (e.g., HACCP), with accurate documentation.
• Restocking chemicals required in the manufacturing process as needed.
• Adhering to good hygiene practices by performing routine and non-routine cleaning tasks.
• Assisting the maintenance department with preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance activities.

Skills & Knowledge

• Previous experience in a food/drink manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Strong work ethic with a hands-on approach and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work independently for extended periods.
• Flexible team player.
• Ability to work at height and in confined spaces as required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Capable of manual handling of heavy goods up to 25kg.
