Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and prioritise workloads across the Process Engineering team.
• Provide day-to-day technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to engineers.
• Support production teams with complex technical issues, fault finding and resolution.
• Manage and improve manufacturing, assembly and test processes.
• Develop test equipment capability, reliability and efficiency.
• Drive improvements in first-time pass yield and reduce production/test failures.
• Manage calibration and preventative maintenance of production equipment and test systems.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) ensuring processes, tooling and equipment are ready for production.
• Investigate mechanical and electronic component failures with Quality, Engineering and Purchasing.

Process Engineering Team Leader

Location: Bicester, Oxfordshire | Hybrid Working

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Process Engineering Team Leader to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business based in Bicester.

The Process Engineering Team Leader will take responsibility for coordinating a technical engineering team while providing hands-on engineering support across production, manufacturing and test operations.

This is a hybrid role based in Bicester, offering a combination of office-based, hands-on engineering and home working.

The Role

• Leading, coordinating and prioritising workloads across the Process Engineering team.
• Providing day-to-day technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to engineers.
• Supporting production teams with complex technical issues, fault finding and problem resolution.
• Managing and improving manufacturing, assembly and test processes.
• Developing test equipment capability, reliability and efficiency.
• Driving improvements in first-time pass yield and reducing production and test failures.
• Managing calibration and preventative maintenance of production equipment and test systems.
• Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring manufacturing processes, tooling and test equipment are ready for production.
• Investigating mechanical and electronic component failures, working closely with Quality, Engineering and Purchasing.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Production Engineering environment.
• Strong hands-on engineering experience within manufacturing, production or test.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or electronic production issues.
• Knowledge of production processes, test equipment, tooling and calibration.
• Experience supporting NPI and continuous improvement activities.
• Previous experience coordinating workloads or providing technical leadership within an engineering team.
• Experience with CAD, Python, ERP/MRP systems or manufacturing technologies would be advantageous.
