Job summary

Croda is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Ditton site. You will contribute to safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations by delivering engineering projects from concept to commissioning.

You'll work with cross-functional teams, develop design documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, URS) and manage budgets, schedules, and risk assessments to ALARP. Experience in hygienic design or pharma/cosmetics is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemical/process engineering or HNC.
• Experience leading complex engineering projects from concept to commissioning.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, hazard studies and risk reviews.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or cosmetic quality standards (cGMP).
• Awareness of HASAWA, PSSR, and DSEAR and related guidance.
• Strong problem solving in a regulated manufacturing setting.
• Tracks record of leading change and delivering asset life plans.
• Proficient in Excel and CAD; hygienic process design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work within a process engineering team to optimise site operations.
• Deliver projects with safety, operability and profitability improvements.
• Define project goals, milestones and deliverables with stakeholders.
• Prepare cost estimates and capital expenditure requests.
• Provide process engineering input during design of projects (PFDs, P&IDs, URS).
• Develop control philosophies and asset design compliant with standards.
• Own budgets and report performance to site leadership.
• Attend safety reviews and ensure ALARP risk management.
• Coordinate with third party designers and vendors for design and FAT.
• Ensure adherence to delivery procedures and site change control.
• Provide expert input for root cause analysis and debottlenecking.
