Job summary

IFF is seeking a process engineer to support the Biological Effluent Treatment Plant on site in Haverhill, UK. You will optimize aeration, dosing, sludge management, and monitor performance to ensure environmental compliance.

You will collaborate with site teams, contribute to audits and environmental reporting, and drive continuous improvement through MOC while maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with industrial wastewater or effluent treatment processes.
  • Strong knowledge of process optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to analyze data for decision-making and regulatory reporting.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, permits and compliance.
  • Experience supporting audits, inspections, and environmental reporting.

  • Own and monitor the performance of the Biological Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to ensure stable operation and environmental compliance.
  • Optimize key treatment processes, including aeration, chemical dosing, and sludge management.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for day-to-day operations and process upsets.
  • Analyze process performance data and identify opportunities to enhance treatment efficiency.
  • Manage sampling programs and execute compliance monitoring activities.
