Job summary

International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) is seeking a specialist to own and monitor the Biological Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) at our Haverhill site. This on-site role focuses on environmental compliance, process optimization, and day-to-day operation guidance.

You will analyze performance data, manage sampling, and support audits while driving improvements and ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards across the plant.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Experience with industrial wastewater, biological treatment, or effluent processes.
• Ability to analyze data to support decision-making.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and audit support.

Responsibilities

• Own and monitor the Biological Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) for stable operation and compliance.
• Optimize treatment processes including aeration, chemical dosing, and sludge management.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot day-to-day operations and process upsets.
• Analyze process performance data to identify efficiency improvements.
• Manage sampling programs and conduct compliance monitoring activities.
• Support environmental audits, reporting and regulatory inspections.
• Drive continuous improvement through Management of Change (MOC) processes.
• Collaborate with site teams to uphold health, safety and environmental standards.
