Job summary

Barhale is recruiting a Graduate Process Engineer to join the Anglian Water capital investment programme in the East of England. You will gain hands-on experience across process engineering on major infrastructure projects and work with seasoned professionals to build your career in water/wastewater systems.

You will be supported throughout development, with opportunities to gain professional experience, work towards CMI/ICE membership, and contribute to safe, efficient project execution in

Qualifications

  • A 2:2 degree or higher in relevant water/wastewater process engineering or related subject.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an open and collaborative way with Alliance teams and the client.
  • Maintain links with Engineers and Managers to ensure smooth interfaces between disciplines.
  • Contribute to stage gate delivery and timely decision making on projects.
  • Apply rigour to projects requiring accurate delivery and sound design.
  • Support development of water/wastewater treatment plant and sewerage/water system designs.

Education

2:2 degree or above in Beng or Meng/MSc in water/wastewater process science/engineering related subject

Graduate Process Engineer

The Role

At @one Alliance, we bring together eight leading organisations to deliver Anglian Water’s capital investment programme across the East of England. Together, we’re delivering projects to help protect and improve one of the UK’s most important resources - water.


As a Graduate Process Engineer, you’ll be part of this exciting programme from the start, gaining hands‑on experience of Process Engineering across major infrastructure projects.


You’ll work alongside experienced Engineering professionals building your knowledge, developing your skills and working towards a successful career in Process Engineering.


You’ll be supported throughout your development, with opportunities to build your technical knowledge, gain professional experience and work towards your longer‑term career goals.


We welcome applications from candidates outside the region who are willing and able to relocate or travel to Peterborough and the East Anglia Region.


As part of the recruitment process, you will be required to attend a number of assessment centres taking place on the following dates: 20 th November, 11 th December, 6 th January, 8 th January, 11 th January, 15 th January, and 18 th January.


Should you be successful in your application, please ensure that you are available to attend all these dates, as participation in the assessment centres forms an essential part of the selection process.


Key Responsibilities


  • Work in an open and collaborative way– practice integrated working with all Alliance teams and the client

  • Maintain close links with other Engineers, Project Design Managers and Operations to ensure smooth interfaces between disciplines, manage gaps/overlaps and share best practice to optimise performance

  • Embrace the responsibilities of a defined stage gate delivery process – understand its impact on your role, people and processes

  • Apply rigour to key projects and tasks that require accurate and timely delivery and decision making

  • Contribute to development of solutions and suitable designs of Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants and/or sewerage/water systems that achieve the goals of Anglian Water in terms of customer, environment and efficiency

  • Support the team in the drive towards excellence in Health & Safety, demonstrating applied knowledge and skills to produce safe designs to discharge obligation according to CDM Regulations, standards and accepted codes of practice

  • Proactively and reactively champion the need to deliver technical excellence ensuring the importance is understood and implemented across projects

  • Ensure adherence to safe working practices including completing audits in line with schedule

  • Report all near misses through the appropriate channel to prevent future accidents


About you

Essential


  • A 2:2 degree or above in Beng or Meng/MSc in water/wastewater process science/engineering related subject

  • Ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines

  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn

  • An interest in infrastructure, construction or the built environment

  • Full UK driving licence
