Job summary

Barhale is seeking a Graduate Site Engineer to join the frontline of project delivery on water and wastewater sites. You will assist in planning, coordination and execution of civil, mechanical or electrical works, gaining exposure to major infrastructure projects.

We welcome candidates willing to relocate to Peterborough/East Anglia region. Assessment centres dates are 20th Nov, 11th Dec, 6th Jan, 8th Jan, 11th Jan, 15th Jan, and 18th Jan; attendance is required as part of the process.

Qualifications

  • 2:2 degree or above in Beng or Meng/MSc in a relevant discipline.
  • CAD and BIM proficiency.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to plan and meet deadlines.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day site management, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
  • Support setting out, surveying, and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, plant, and materials on site.
  • Monitor progress, quality, and health & safety compliance.
  • Assist with environmental management and sustainability targets.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Senior Engineers to solve technical challenges.
  • Contribute to project reporting and stakeholder communication.

Graduate Site Engineer
The Role

We’re a ground-breaking collaboration between eight leading organisations – Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO – and we deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme. We are looking for a Graduate Site Engineer to join the frontline of project delivery, supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of civil, mechanical, or electrical works on water and wastewater sites. This is a hands-on, site-based role offering exposure to major infrastructure projects, cutting-edge technologies, and the chance to build a meaningful career in a future-proof industry.

We welcome applications from candidates outside the region who are willing and able to relocate or travel to Peterborough and the East Anglia Region.
As part of the recruitment process, you will be required to attend a number of assessment centres taking place on the following dates: 20 th November, 11 th December, 6 th January, 8 th January, 11 th January, 15 th January, and 18 th January.

About you
Essential
  • A 2:2 degree or above in Beng or Meng/MSc in a relevant discipline
  • CAD and BIM proficiency
  • Detailed technical knowledge. Knowledge of inter-related engineering disciplines
  • The ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn
  • An interest in infrastructure, construction or the built environment
  • Full UK driving licence
