A leading company specializing in carbon-ceramic materials is seeking a Process Engineer to enhance their advanced manufacturing operations. This role focuses on heat treatment and metallurgy, requiring a strong background in thermal processes and materials science. The successful candidate will lead key thermal processes, support new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Role:
My client is a specialist in carbon-ceramic materials and is looking for a Process Engineer to focus on heat treatment and metallurgy within their advanced manufacturing operation.
You'll lead key thermal processes (e.g. carbonisation, CVD, pyrolysis), support new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Develop, document, and optimise high-temperature thermal processes
Analyse microstructures, phase transformations, and failure investigations
Collaborate across teams to improve yield, reduce variation, and support NPI
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and audit requirements
What You’ll Need:
Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
3+ years in a process engineering environment
Strong understanding of thermal processes and materials behaviour
Hands-on problem-solving and excellent documentation skills
Nice to Have:
Experience with composites, ceramics, or vacuum/inert furnaces
Six Sigma or lean manufacturing background
Materials testing knowledge
