University of Leicester is seeking a Process Development Engineer (Research Associate) to lead scale-up of oil-water separation for lithium-ion battery recycling. You will design and optimise processes for mixed battery-chemistry black mass, and drive from laboratory validation toward industrial demonstration within the RECLAIM project.

The role involves cross-disciplinary collaboration, hands-on pilot trials, travel to partner sites, and contribution to publications, reports and future funding

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent industrial experience in chemical or process engineering.
• Experience in translating laboratory/batch processes to pilot-scale or continuous operation.
• Knowledge of solid-liquid or liquid-liquid separation and related processes.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop and optimise processes for battery black mass.
• Scale up oil–water separation technology to a continuous pilot unit.
• Collaborate with partners and contribute to technical reporting and dissemination.
