Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a confident Cover Supervisor for a secondary school in the Nottingham area. The role is flexible, long-term or day-to-day, offering valuable classroom management experience in a supportive environment.

You will lead lessons across KS3–KS4 when needed, deliver pre-set work, manage behaviour, and provide clear handover notes to staff. A degree or teaching qualification is preferred, with commuting to the partner school in Nottingham.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cover Supervisor, HLTA, sports coach, or youth mentor with secondary pupils.
• Confident behaviour management and rapid rapport-building.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities.
• Degree-educated or holding teaching qualifications.
• Willingness to commute to the partner school in Nottingham.

Responsibilities

• Lead whole-class lessons across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the teacher.
• Deliver pre-set work, manage behaviour, and keep pupils engaged.
• Provide clear handover feedback to regular staff after each session.
• Collaborate with departmental heads and pastoral teams.
