Job summary

Finsbury Food Group is seeking a PPM Engineer to join the Engineering Team at one of its Manchester sites. You will deliver a proactive maintenance programme across site assets, aiming to reduce downtime and extend equipment life while aligning with production needs.

You’ll work closely with the Reliability Manager and engineering colleagues, ensure safety and hygiene standards, and contribute to continuous improvement projects in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering qualifications and relevant experience essential.
• Apprentice-trained would be desirable.
• Machining skills or experience would be advantageous.
• IPAF trained would be desirable.
• FMCG experience would be advantageous.
• Good communication skills and team orientation are important.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a proactive planned preventative maintenance programme across site assets.
• Reduce equipment downtime and extend machinery life.
• Coordinate with Reliability Manager and Engineering team to schedule maintenance around production.
• Develop knowledge of bakery process systems and ensure standards and schedules are met.
• Support Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.
