Job summary

Streets is a modern accountancy practice with 33 offices across the UK, combining national expertise with a close-knit, people-first culture. We are seeking a trainee to support the Manager in delivering the general personal tax function and to prepare self-assessment tax returns for a diverse client base.

You will work with the team to ensure high-quality taxation services and excellent client service, with mentoring opportunities and a path to ATT qualification supported by Streets.

Qualifications

• Understanding taxation principles to deliver effective service to clients.
• Delivering self-assessment tax returns for clients with various income sources.
• Assisting with other taxation paperwork and dealings with HMRC.
• Willingness to mentor and support trainees within the team.

Responsibilities

• To have a reasonable understanding of taxation principles and practices to deliver an effective service to clients.
• Working with the Manager and team to ensure quality taxation services and excellent client service.
• Delivering the self-assessment tax return preparation for clients with a variety of income sources.
• To assist with other taxation paperwork and returns such as 60 day Capital Gains Tax returns and liaise with HM Revenue & Customs on client matters.
• To have good client relationship skills to build strong relationships and handle client queries.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to other trainees within the team where necessary.
• Assist the tax team with any ad hoc work.
