Job summary

Saffery LLP in Leeds seeks an experienced Personal Tax Director to lead and grow the existing team from our Leeds office. The role focuses on delivering complex advisory work while cultivating key client relationships across high‑net‑worth individuals and their businesses.

You will coach colleagues on complex tax compliance, manage WIP and billing, and represent the firm in the Leeds and Yorkshire marketplace.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background across personal taxation and private client advisory.
• Experience with entrepreneurs and business owners; OMBs and family businesses essential.
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and ability to develop junior advisers.
• Excellent communication with high-net-worth clients and intermediaries.
• Ability to manage multi-disciplinary advisory projects with timely delivery.

Responsibilities

• Identification of planning opportunities and overseeing the delivery of complex advisory projects, liaising with subject matter experts to ensure robust advice.
• Dealing with tax affairs for wealthy individuals and families, focusing on entrepreneurial and business owning clients.
• Building relationships with high-net-worth private individuals, families and their advisers.
• Leading client meetings to discuss and implement tax advisory and compliance projects.
• Managing WIP, recoveries and billing for your clients and projects.
• Providing technical support to the wider team to manage tax risks.
• Coaching and mentoring junior team members to grow the next generation of advisers.
• Representing Saffery in Leeds and Yorkshire, developing relationships with intermediaries.
