Job summary

South Wales Local Authority is seeking a temporary officer to cover sick leave, providing advice on grants, administering grant regimes for bathroom adaptations and stair lifts, and ensuring payments are processed accurately.

You will assess housing conditions under HHSRS, ensure non-licensable HMOs meet requirements, and bring strong knowledge of housing and grants legislation to the role.

Qualifications

• Experience of Housing and Mandatory Grants legislation.
• Experience of housing assessments under the HHSRS.
• Proven technical skills in Housing and Grants.

Job description

My local authority based in South Wales is looking for someone to come in and hit the ground running as current officer is on sick leave. Please see below further details;

Responsibilities

• 1. Providing advice and information on the range of grants provided in line with the Council’s Private Sector Renewal Policy and other services delivered by the team.
• 2. Administering the council’s mandatory and discretional grants regimes – primarily in relation to bathroom adaptations and stair lifts. Ensuring grant funded works comply with schedules and payments are administered efficiently and accurately.
• 3. Ensuring non-licensable HMO’s meet relevant statutory requirements.
