Job summary

Standard Life in London seeks an Investment Manager to shape our Private Markets capability, focusing on Structured Credit and Mortgage Solutions. You will lead complex transactions, co-ordinate with actuarial, risk and capital teams, and drive the execution lifecycle from assessment through to portfolio management.

You will contribute to evolving our securitised assets and broader Private Markets strategy, applying rigorous modelling and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• Professional investment experience within a buy-side or sell-side environment, with hands-on exposure to assessing investments across Structured Credit and/or Mortgage Solutions.
• Strong cash-flow modelling and credit/analytical capability with experience in complex investments.
• Experience evaluating or structuring investments in regulatory/capital environments.
• Track record of delivering high-quality analytical work while juggling multiple priorities.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word capabilities; familiarity with Intex.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to complex transactions across structured credit, securitisations, Equity Release Mortgages and other Private Markets investments.
• Structure and execute internal and external securitisations, including ABS/CLO and mortgage-related transactions, optimising risk-adjusted returns and capital outcomes.
• Work with Actuarial, Risk and Capital colleagues to evaluate assumptions, investment structures and regulatory considerations.
• Analyse opportunities through detailed cash-flow modelling, credit analysis and investment recommendations.
• Act as a key structuring partner across cross-functional deal teams, progressing transactions successfully.
• Contribute to the evolution of our securitised asset and wider Private Markets strategy with market insight and new ideas.
• Support pricing and negotiation of complex investments, including financial, commercial and legal terms.
• Monitor portfolio performance, emerging risks and covenant compliance; support asset management and restructuring as needed.
• Become a trusted technical resource for complex transactions and improve tools, processes, and execution.
• Identify opportunities to innovate and simplify as our Private Markets capability grows.
