Job summary

Moor Park Golf Club in Hertfordshire, UK seeks a qualified Financial Controller to lead the day-to-day finance function within the leadership team. The role combines strong financial control, management reporting, forecasting and planning with a practical understanding of the hospitality and member-based operation.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in financial controller or finance manager role.
• Experience with multi-revenue streams and hospitality/club finance is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day finance function with support from Accounts Assistant.
• Prepare timely monthly management accounts with commentary for GM, FD and Finance Committee.
• Lead budgeting, cashflow forecasting and P&L forecasting.
• Act as commercially minded business partner to GM and leadership team.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure accounting, tax, VAT, and statutory compliance.
• Review and improve finance systems and reporting, including digitalisation.
• Review payroll arrangements and advise on efficient approaches.
• Prepare financial reports and commentary for Finance Committee and Board.
• Develop relationships with department heads and maintain visibility across the Club.
• Work with autonomy to improve systems, reporting and commercial performance.
