S&W in Edinburgh is seeking a Manager for the Private Client Tax Team to lead complex tax work for private clients and ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery. You will oversee a portfolio, collaborate with other service lines, and guide junior colleagues.

The role requires ACA/CTA qualification and substantial private client tax experience, with strong communication and leadership skills essential for client success.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Tax Adviser (ACA/CTA).
• Extensive experience in private client tax and complex capital gains tax cases.
• Ability to communicate complex tax messages to clients clearly.
• Experience in tax planning and advisory projects; manage complex compliance.
• Demonstrated people management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver work to clients within timelines and budgets.
• Manage a client portfolio and review junior team members' work.
• Coordinate with other service lines to deliver client work.
• Monitor WIP and draft fee notes.
• Maintain strong client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Develop junior staff through feedback and training.
