S&W in Edinburgh is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our Private Client Tax Team. You will work with a highly skilled group delivering tax planning, advisory and compliance services for private clients and partnerships.

You will supervise junior team members, manage client portfolios, liaise with other service lines, and ensure timely delivery within budgets. The firm offers a supportive environment with training and clear progression.

Qualifications

• Experience within a professional services firm with knowledge of private client and partnership tax and some planning experience.
• Proven ability to communicate complex messages to clients.
• Ability to think beyond technical elements and understand the client's landscape.
• Experience delivering tax planning/advisory projects and managing complex compliance.
• People management and organisational experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivering work to clients in line with agreed timelines and budgets.
• Managing a client portfolio and reviewing junior team members' work.
• Liaising with other service lines to deliver client work (e.g., Accounts & Corporate Tax).
• Monitoring WIP and drafting fee notes.
• Maintaining strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for new work.
• Developing junior team members and supporting their technical and personal development.
