S&W, a leading UK accountancy firm, is looking for an Assistant Manager to join the Private Client Tax Team in Edinburgh. You will manage client portfolios, oversee junior staff, and work cross-functionally with Accounts & Corporate Tax to deliver high-quality tax services.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a professional services firm with private client & partnership tax knowledge and some planning experience.
• Ability to communicate complex messages clearly to clients and colleagues.
• Ability to think beyond technical elements and consider client landscape.
• Experience delivering tax planning/advisory projects and managing complex compliance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver work to clients within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Manage a client portfolio and review junior team members' work.
• Coordinate with other service lines (e.g., Accounts & Corporate Tax) to deliver client work.
• Monitor WIP and draft fee notes.
• Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for new work.
• Develop junior team members through feedback and guidance.
