As a Manager, you will be part of the private client tax team working on tax advisory and tax compliance services for a diverse range of clients, supporting other team members as needed.
Due to recent growth, we are seeking candidates based in Manchester, Leeds, or Harrogate, with a requirement to work in the office three times a week for collaboration.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing tax returns, managing HMRC enquiries, overseeing compliance clients daily, monitoring time limits and elections (manage Taxpoint), reviewing HMRC correspondence, engaging in planning and advisory projects, assisting Partners with complex projects, participating in client meetings, handling billing and budgets, delegating and reviewing work from trainees and seniors, maintaining technical expertise, and meeting client deadlines.
- Participating in training sessions, coaching trainees and seniors, appraising performance, and delivering technical training.
- Supporting colleagues and partners with chargeable and non-chargeable work when necessary.
- Ensuring compliance with deadlines, procedures, and departmental administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
- Significant private client tax experience within professional services or industry.
- Technically proficient tax adviser capable of handling complex client work.
- Experience managing people.
- Interest in developing business development skills.
- Strong IT skills.
Professional Qualifications:
- Relevant professional qualifications (CTA and/or ACA).
Key Competencies:
- Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, instruct and delegate appropriately, and manage delegated work.
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting client and HMRC correspondence, with strong interpersonal skills for liaising with clients and staff.
- Ability to meet deadlines and respond to client needs.
- Capability to supervise junior staff and support partners.
- Maintain technical knowledge, identify issues, and propose solutions.
