Job summary

Forvis Mazars in the UK is seeking a Tax Advisory Assistant Manager to join the Private Client Tax team in London. You will support Partners and the Associate Director on high‑quality private client tax disputes work, including divorce and professional negligence matters, while gaining exposure to broader advisory engagements.

You will prepare tax advisory reports, fee proposals, and engage with external law firm contacts to grow the network, while developing your own case management

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in personal tax compliance or advisory roles.
• Professional qualifications such as ACA / ACCA / ATT / STEP and CTA, or equivalent.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation.
• Strong written and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain internal and external client relationships.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements, follow risk and review procedures and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support the Partner and Associate Director to deliver high quality client service in Private Client Tax Disputes cases such as divorce or professional negligence litigation.
• Learn the process for managing and delivering engagements, with a view to managing some cases directly in future.
• Prepare proposals and fee budgets for new enquiries.
• Prepare tax advisory and expert witness reports in line with court or client deadlines.
• Build relationships with key law firm intermediary contacts to develop an external network.
• Build relationships within Tax and across service lines with Forvis Mazars colleagues in London, nationally and internationally.
• Prepare private client tax reports for high net worth individuals on residence, IHT planning, family succession and business structuring.
• Review tax returns and other compliance matters for high net worth individuals.
