Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment in Harrogate is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor, Legal Executive or Fee Earner to manage a full caseload of private client matters, including wills, probate and estate administration.

You will handle powers of attorney, Court of Protection work and trusts, contribute to business development, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure compliant, timely delivery of on-going matters.

Qualifications

• Experience handling a private client caseload.
• Strong knowledge of wills, probate and estate administration.
• Experience with Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work.
• Experience with trusts and inheritance tax planning would be advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• A professional and client‑focused approach.
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using case management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of private client work to a high professional and client‑care standard.
• Progress matters efficiently and accurately, keeping clients regularly updated on progress and costs.
• Maintain accurate time recording and work towards agreed billing and performance targets.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of all client and firm documentation.
• Use the firm's case management system effectively to manage and progress matters.
• Take responsibility for credit control on your own matters, with support from the Accounts team.
• Ensure compliance with relevant professional regulations, including the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and Code of Conduct.
• Develop positive relationships with external organisations and professional referrers.
