Eventus Legal in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to join a well-established law firm. This full-time, permanent role offers 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm with a one-hour lunch break, and hybrid working with up to two days from home.

Responsibilities

• Progressing matters accurately and efficiently, keeping clients informed of progress and costs.
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients and professional contacts.
• Ensuring billing and time recording meet firm standards and manage aged debt.
• Maintaining confidentiality and accurate records through the case management system.
• Complying with professional obligations, including accounts rules and codes of conduct.
• Contributing to business development and growth of the client base.
• Supporting junior team members and collaborating across Harrogate and private client team.

Eventus Legal are seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor / Legal Executive to join a well-established law firm in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. This is a full-time, permanent job paying £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with a one-hour lunch break. The position offers hybrid working with up to two days from home each week, 23 days' holiday plus bank holidays and additional paid leave during the Christmas shutdown, your birthday off, service-related increases to annual leave and the option to purchase an additional week's holiday. You will manage a varied private client caseload while working alongside a Paralegal based in the Harrogate office.

Role Responsibilities

This Private Client Solicitor / Legal Executive job will involve managing a broad caseload and delivering a high standard of client care throughout each matter. Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing all aspects of private client work, including wills, inheritance tax planning, trusts, powers of attorney, Court of Protection applications, probate and estate administration.
• Progressing matters accurately and efficiently, keeping clients regularly informed of progress and costs.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, professional contacts and third-party referrers.
• Working to agreed standards for billing, time recording, aged debt and other performance measures.
• Maintaining confidentiality and accurate records through the firm's case management system.
• Complying with relevant professional obligations, including the Solicitors' Accounts Rules and applicable codes of conduct.
• Contributing positively to business development activity and the continued growth of the firm's client and referral base.
• Taking responsibility for your own professional development and keeping up to date with changes in private client law.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues in Harrogate and across the wider private client team, including supporting and supervising junior team members where required.

Person Specification

• Previous experience handling a broad private client caseload.
• Strong knowledge of wills, probate and estate administration, powers of attorney, trusts and inheritance tax matters.
• A client-focused and professional approach, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisation and the ability to prioritise a varied caseload effectively.
• Confidence working independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to use a case management system effectively.
• A proactive approach to maintaining professional knowledge and competence.
