Job summary

The Basildon-based Private Client team of a well-established Legal 500-ranked law firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor. Ideally 3+ years’ PQE, you will manage your own caseload across wills, probate, estate administration and trusts, with a focus on client service and commercial awareness.

You will work within a supportive, regional practice with senior support and opportunities for career development, business development and a collaborative team environment across Essex

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of wills, probate, estate administration, trusts and lasting powers of attorney.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and develop client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of private client matters independently.
• Advising on wills, estate planning, probate, estate administration, LPA and trusts.
• Handling more complex private client matters with appropriate support.
• Drafting and reviewing technically accurate legal documents and correspondence.
• Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.
• Ensuring files are compliant and maintained to a high standard.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm.
• Supporting junior team members and contributing to department development.

The opportunity

A well-established Legal 500-ranked law firm with a strong presence across Essex is looking to appoint an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its established team in Basildon.

The firm has been established for over 40 years and has around 100 staff across multiple Essex offices. Its Private Client practice is ranked Tier 2 in the Legal 500 for Personal Tax, Trusts & Probate, with particular expertise across estate administration, succession planning, wills, trusts and Court of Protection matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident solicitor, ideally with 3+ years’ PQE, to take on a senior position within a respected and growing Private Client department. You will manage your own caseload, build strong client relationships and have the opportunity to develop your career within a highly regarded regional practice.

Key responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of private client matters independently.
• Advising clients on wills, estate planning, probate, estate administration, lasting powers of attorney and trusts.

About you

You will be a qualified solicitor with ideally 3+ years’ PQE and solid experience in private client law.

You should have a strong working knowledge of wills, probate, estate administration, trusts and lasting powers of attorney, with the confidence to manage your own caseload and advise clients with a high degree of independence.

The ideal candidate will be technically strong, commercially aware and client-focused, with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to their work.
