Job summary

Leeds Private Law Firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its Private Wealth team in Leeds. You will work closely with partners and other teams to grow the practice and deliver exceptional client service.

The role requires strong experience in private client work, high-value probate and estate planning for HNW clients, and a proactive business development mindset. STEP qualification is desirable, and travel to client meetings may be required.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with broad experience in private client law, especially probate and estate planning for high net worth individuals.
• Demonstrated business development experience and ability to build intermediary relationships.
• Strong IT and technical skills, with excellent communication and time management.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of private client matters including probate and estate planning for high net worth individuals.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members and support other case handlers as needed.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and intermediaries to grow the practice.
• Attend client meetings and manage correspondence and documentation.
• Contribute to marketing and business development initiatives and meet KPI targets.

A leading UK law firm with offices nationwide is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its highly regarded Private Wealth team in Leeds.

The Team

The Private Wealth team has an excellent reputation for advising clients on all aspects of their personal legal affairs. The team acts for a diverse client base, including high net worth individuals and offers comprehensive lifetime and post-death planning services. Team members include STEP-qualified practitioners and members of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers.

The Role

Working closely with Partners and established teams across the firm's Northern offices, you will play a key role in growing the private client practice and delivering an exceptional level of client service. The role has a strong business development element, with opportunities to build on existing intermediary relationships while developing new networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing your own caseload of private client matters, including high-value and complex probate and estate planning for high net worth individuals
• Supporting other case handlers within the team and wider department as required
• Supervising and mentoring junior team members
• Advising clients on their personal and financial affairs and taking instructions
• Attending client meetings, including travel where required
• Preparing and managing correspondence, notes and legal documentation
• Contributing to marketing and business development initiatives
• Meeting agreed financial, chargeable hour and KPI targets
• Ensuring deadlines, quality standards and internal procedures are adhered to
• Working in line with the firm's values and professional standards

This role may also involve additional duties consistent with the seniority and scope of the position.
