Job summary

Clayton Legal is assisting a progressive regional law firm in Farnham to recruit a Senior Private Client Solicitor. You will handle high-quality private client matters for HNW individuals, with autonomy to shape a growing department and develop client relationships.

The role requires strong technical knowledge across wills, trusts, IHT, probate and estate planning, with supervision of junior staff and opportunities for business development. STEP is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Senior Private Client Solicitor – Farnham

We’re working with a progressive, highly regarded regional law firm with a strong reputation across Surrey, Hampshire, London and the wider South East. They’re looking for an experienced Senior Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join their Farnham team.

The role

You’ll manage a high-quality and technically challenging caseload, advising HNW individuals and families across:

• Complex Wills and succession planning
• Inheritance Tax and estate planning
• Trust creation, administration and taxation
• Probate and complex estate administration
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Court of Protection and Deputyship matters
• Asset protection planning

You’ll also have the opportunity to supervise junior colleagues, develop professional referrer relationships and get involved in business development, including networking, seminars and marketing content.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced Private Client lawyer who is:

• Technically strong across Private Client
• Confident managing complex matters independently
• Experienced in trusts, IHT, probate and estate planning
• Commercially minded with excellent client care skills
• Comfortable supervising junior team members
• Keen to develop business and professional relationships

STEP qualification or working towards it would be advantageous, as would Solicitors for the Elderly accreditation and experience acting for HNW individuals, business owners or landed estates.
