Job description

Join to apply for the Private Banker role at Barclays.

In this role as a Private Banker, you will have an exciting opportunity to be part of the UK Domestic team, offering bespoke banking and investment solutions to ultra-high net worth clients. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing bespoke banking services, lending, wealth structuring, and a range of investment products across all asset classes.

To succeed as a Private Banker, you should have experience with:

  • Relationship management, especially handling the needs of private clients and families.
  • Financial services industry, ideally in retail regulated products, high net worth services, and asset management.
  • Advising on diverse wealth management solutions.
  • Being RDR level four qualified.

Highly valued skills include digital literacy, market exposure, private banking experience, and business development skills such as cold calling.

This role is located in London and is a Certified role under PRA & UK FCA regulations, possibly requiring specific regulatory qualifications.

Purpose of the role

To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with corporate and individual clients, aligning bank offerings with client needs for mutual long-term success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage client relationships, understanding their financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance, analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Research industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competition to inform strategic advice.
  • Design tailored solutions using the bank's products and services.
  • Communicate value propositions, negotiate terms, and support clients' financial decisions with expert advice.
  • Assess and mitigate financial, legal, and operational risks.
  • Document all interactions and transactions for transparency and compliance.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and revenue metrics to evaluate relationship management effectiveness.
Vice President Expectations
  • Set strategy, manage resources, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead or contribute as a subject matter expert, guiding teams and training less experienced colleagues.
  • Advise senior stakeholders and manage risks, demonstrating leadership and strategic thinking.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, influencing outcomes.
