Job summary

HM Prison & Probation Service is seeking a role focused on delivering a range of rehabilitation programmes within a prison setting. The post involves group and individual sessions, assessment, and support for wider rehabilitative activity, with training and career development provided.

It is non-operational with no line management responsibilities. The role emphasises engaging participants through motivational interviews, maintaining accurate records, and reporting progress to sentence

Qualifications

• Excellent skills in dealing with people.
• Full training will be provided.
• Ability to sucessfully complete required assessment and training courses.

Responsibilities

• Deliver programmes in group or individual basis, following a manual and delivering as designed.
• Organise materials for session delivery.
• Plan sessions per programme requirements to meet participant needs.
• Identify and recruit future programme participants, complete assessments and screening.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments and contact with prisoners.
• Conduct motivational interviews to engage prisoners in programmes.
• Complete post-session de-briefs and record key information from sessions.
• Communicate progress with sentence management team for each participant.
• Engage in sentence management and liaise with prison and community Offender Managers.
