Job summary

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust seeks a committed Practitioner Psychologist to join the HMP Forest Bank mental health team. You will provide evidence-based therapy, carry out assessments, and contribute to group interventions with a focus on trauma and complex presentations.

HCPC registered and post-qualification training are required. Expect to work within an MDT in a secure environment with CPD support and supervision availability.

Qualifications

• Registered psychologist with HCPC registration and safe practice compliance.
• Experience delivering psychological therapy for complex mental health needs.
• Experience providing supervision and professional development for others.

Responsibilities

• Provide short to medium term psychological therapy within a stepped-care model.
• Conduct psychological assessments and develop formulations for trauma-related presentations.
• Develop and facilitate model-specific group interventions (CBT, DBT, CFT).
• Maintain high-quality risk assessments and risk management plans.
• Collaborate with MDT partners and custodial service staff to ensure accessible care.
