Job summary

NHS Forth Valley Prison Healthcare in Polmont is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join the team at HMP Polmont. You will assist with accurate processing and supply of medicines within the prison, supporting an efficient medicines supply process and responding to requests from healthcare staff and prisoners.

The role requires previous experience in a pharmaceutical setting, PVG scheme eligibility, and you will contribute to filing Kardexes and stock control documentation while helping maintain

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a pharmaceutical setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the accurate and timely processing and supply of medicines within the prison, in accordance with specified procedures.
• Contribute to the day-to-day running of the Health Centre by supporting an efficient and accurate medicines supply process.
• Respond to requests from healthcare staff and prisoners for medicines, dressings, sundries and appliances required to meet the needs of the prison population.
• Participate in the control and distribution of medicines, both as named-patient supplies and as stock within the prison.
• Participate in filing prescription Kardexes and generating stock-control documentation.
• Help ensure that the quality of the service, environment and equipment meets the specified standards.
