Job summary

Practice Plus Group's Pharmacy team at HMP Lancaster Farms is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support the dispensary duties and stock management, ensuring prompt delivery of pharmaceutical services across the prison wings.

The role operates Monday to Friday 7.30 to 17.30 with up to two weekends per month, full-time, and offers an annual salary up to £29,723. NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent is required, along with solid IT and communication skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards.
• Medicines handing experience desirable not essential.
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good IT skills and IT literacy.
• Ability to work within a busy environment.
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
• Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
• Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
• Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
• Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Education

NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards

Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent

Excellent communication skills

Good IT skills and IT literacy

A non-judgmental and compassionate approach

Ability to work within a busy environment

Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
