Job summary

Amey is seeking an on-site Painter & Decorator for HMYOI Swinfen Hall. The role involves planned and reactive painting across the prison, with a 39-hour week (Mon-Thu 07.45-16.45 with 1 hour lunch; Fri 07.15-15.45 with 1 hour lunch).

The base salary is £28,792–£33,532 depending on experience. Candidates should have NVQ2/3 in Painting & Decorating (desirable), relevant experience, and a solid understanding of health and safety.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2 or 3 in Painting & Decorating is desirable.
• Previous relevant work-related experience.
• Good awareness of health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
• Comfortable working alongside prisoners.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
• Care and maintenance of tools, materials and company property.
• Compliance with Health & Safety policies, instructions and directives.
• Support for local and business carbon reduction programs where appropriate.
• Ensure H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
