Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a Prison Officer to join a large mainstream primary academy's SEND provision as a behaviour mentor for KS1 and KS2. You will work closely with pupils needing extra support and alongside the main teacher to promote positive behaviour and engagement.

This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm. The ideal candidate is committed, a good communicator, and prepared to work with pupils who have social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Must be committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare of pupils.
• Good communication skills and ability to engage with young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Willingness to work with children in a SEND environment.

Responsibilities

• Work on a 1-1 basis with pupils.
• Work in small groups or in class settings.
• Support the main teacher in the classroom.
• Build positive relationships with pupils.
• Manage pupils' behaviour and implement positive reinforcement.
• Engage students to complete their work.

Aspire are currently seeking a Prison Officer to work in a Primary with a SEND provision as a behaviour mentor to work in the SEND department of a large mainstream primary academy working with KS1 and KS2 students.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Working on a 1-1 basis with certain pupils.
• Working in small groups or in the class
• Supporting the main teacher
• Building good relationships with the pupils
• Managing students behaviour
• Positive reinforcement
• Engaging students to complete their work

This is a full time role working from Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm.
